Apple art

, ,

Last Saturday, Dalexia and I went to a small town south of Montreal called Mont-Saint-Hilaire. The city is mostly reknown for its apple orchards and we heard that there was a exhibition of art pieces made out of organic components going on. Since we wished to take a walk in nature, we thought that would made a nice trip.

When we went, not all the installations were finished and a few artists were still working on their project but there were enough interesting works to make the visit worth while. At the end of visit we had to pick our favorite project.

which would you choose?

The second one - the one of the giant apple made of twigs - hopefully applewood branches smile

interesting. but i am always puzzled by what is happening in the art world. what is the 'content'. "ten ways to waste some apples" "i have nothing better to do than to enter this contest about apples"?

@Sal

They were certainly not applewood branches because it doesn't bend well. I think it Dalexia's favorite too smile

@Scott

I don't know, Scott, what was the artistic approch behind every work but I can tell you from the point of view of the spectator that it was more fun than taking a walk in a ordinary orchard. smile

Strange

I love this kind of art. One of the most interesting installations I ever experienced was one where there were stocking filled with spices hanging from the ceiling. It was like entering the most wonderfully scented cave.

Hi Andy! happy

@Lion's fan

I remember, you've posted about it, eh? You even put some photos I think because I have an image in mind.

Maybe I mentioned it, but I am sure there is no post.

Tough decision. I like the big apple, but there's something about those apples nestled at the foot of the tree that appeals to me.

I chose the hanging apples. Even if it was very simple, it was nice to have the impression of apples floating in the air. smile
