From now on

Today at job, we have make a little celebration for one special employee who took his retirement 2 weeks ago. That man worked 10 years at our place (4 more then me). All these years, he swept the sidewalks, emptied the trash, shovelled the snow, etc. he was often grumbling about the job we asked him to do. He worked at real slow pace and sometimes he just wander around doing nothing.

But that man now 56 years old liked his job and took it hard when we told him that due to his recent medical condition he couldn’t work at our place anymore. He have not much friends outside work and doesn’t have any hobbies, all he is able to do is sweep the sidewalks, empty the trash, shovel the snow, etc.

So we decided the make a little something for his departure, we asked the big bosses to came and all the employees too. I wrote a small speech on him for our president to tell and I made laminate a photo of our working group. It didn’t cost most and the big bosses agree to spent a little time for a grumbling man who could only sweep the sidewalks, empty the trash, shovel the snow, etc.

The man was surprised to see all the people who came for him. And he didn’t think that we’ll do anything to underline his ten years of work at our place. In fact, this man didn’t thought to much about anything and sometimes he told things that don’t make a lot of sense. He is better at sweeping the sidewalks, emptying the trash, shovelling the snow, etc. and he takes those jobs really seriously, and if you told him how to do it, he’ll moan you some kind of reason why he have to do it this way and he’ll keep on working the way he intended to.

Well that man cried today, he was really touched by our little celebration, he is mentally impaired and worked on a special program at our place. Our big bosses, five mayors of the surroundings cities came to wish him a good well deserved retirement. There were about twenty employees who sincerely want to wish him goodbye. All these years, we had a lot of pleasure with him and we sometimes deliberately exasperated him but it always end up with a good laugh. I’m very proud to be part of a company who considers the human aspect and let take time to prepare all this for man who just have enough intellectual to sweep the sidewalks, empty the trash, shovel the snow, etc. but have emotions and feelings and truly disserved it.

I took more photos today with my new camera:Spring's sceneries of Canada 2. I’m quite happy with the result. I was lucky to saw a pileated woodpecker, thanks to the guy working with me who told me where he saw it during the day.
My new camera is a Kodak and every salesman told me to buy a more expensive brand because Kodak lens is shit! Well it is maybe shit for professionals and I do respect them and there works. But for some guy who practice a little with his 35mm SLR and just do photos for fun, I think the camera is great and do some beautiful pictures. I think the Canon lobbying is very strung because they all want to sell me one!
