Smoke on the water

Not the four chords song but the mist coming from the warmer water... :D

Prelude to the Perseids

Last Saturday, before the Galileo Moment, we had a nice spectacle:
The sun setting over the lower mountains of the Laurentians mountain range.

On the barn wall

This week photos is a simple black and white photo of a cart wheel hang on a barn wall. I took this photo last Sunday when we all went to the "cabane à sucre" for a traditional meal. As usual, we all ate too much and we all felt bad after. But as usual, we will go back next year and we will eat as much...

Bonne Saint-Jean!

Beautiful eyes

Beautiful eyes.

And this time I'm not talking about Dalexia's eyes but rather about the beautiful eyes I saw today when I went to Mt. Tremblant.

I was looking for something original to photograph so I made a quick search on the web to see what were the interesting tourist attractions of my region and this is how I found a Free-Flight Birdshow called "EVOLUTION...From Dinosaurs to Raptors". It was an amazing show featuring some of the nicest and impressive birds of prey. I had the chance to see, at arm length distance, many species like a bald eagle, a great horned owl or a Harris Hawk.

Some of them had to be kept leashed but other were able to fly freely and they often flew right above our heads or between the spectators. Well not all of them behaved so nicely, at one point, Napoleon an European Great Horned Owl has decided to go visit the surrounding forest!

Oops!... :eyes:

Napoleon? :left: :right:

bye

The young ladies presenting the show had to take their radar monitoring equipment to find the renegade. “Sorry, will be right back!” 20 minutes later Napoleon was back on the hand of his trainer and everyone felt relieved because he wouldn't have survived in the wilderness because he was born in captivity and he wouldn't be able to hunt properly.

Since the show was held on the top of the mountain, the background scenery was gorgeous but the only problems was the black flies. You have to come to the Laurentians, especially in the Mt. Tremblant region at the end of June to experience how bad it can get. The show's presenters were always interrupting themselves. “Kaf! Kaf! Sorry, I swallowed a fly!” And the Libyan tourists sited beside me didn't understand how anyone could bear this torture!
I think they emptied their whole can of insect repellent during the show!

I think you will understand more when you will see the constant presence of those nagging creatures on my photos. So here they are...
