...starting a new life

A visit at my friend's park

, , , ,

Yesterday I went to my friend’s park to try his new snow-shoe trail. This friend is the ex-colleague we try to properly replace since his departure but haven't succeed so far. He is now the new director of a similar park and he always invites me to go visit his new work challenge. Friday when he called me about work related information, I told him that I’ll go see him on Saturday.

When I arrived at the park, the first thing that caught my eyes was the number of cars, the parking was almost full. :D
It’s his first season has a general director and I know how it could be difficult to prove yourself when you start a managing job. Even more with this very abnormal weather season. Also, this park has a history of political conflicts (another park owned by many cities) and it’s still making the front page of the small local newspapers like it did two weeks ago.

I went inside the lodge. He was there, obviously in a big rush, at the ski renting office. I took a coffee while someone came to replace him so he could break for lunch. His replacement was another ex-employee of our park (stealer! p: ).

We sat at his office and he was visibly proud when I told him that there were more cars in his parking than in our. We chatted a little about his new challenge, old job anecdotes, etc. It was fun but short, he had to go back to work. Before I left to make my snow-shoe ride, he asks me if I could take pictures of the place while it was crowded… :wink:

I’m happy for him because he is one hell of a good guy and he deserves to have some good things happening to him because he had his share of troubles so far.

I also took photos in the trail and gave them to him so he could use them in his publicity.

Wait a minute… I take photos for a competitor's park and during this time, the website of my park only contains some old low quality pictures! Homer: Doh!

Maybe I should stop using all my photos on my Blog and put a few on the park’s website! :whistle:

I like the tree shades on this one.

Too bad the light was not good, because this ice formation was really special.

Has anyone seen LWU lately?

In that middle photo, that ice formation in the middle looks very suspect, perhaps it is leading us to find something magical.

Yes, the trees are exceptional.

@San

You are a true believer! :D

@Maja

Thanks! there is no real competition between the 2 parks. In fact, we try to help each other the more we can. Although, If the two parks were private instead of municipal, it would probably be a different story... :smile:

@The two foxes!

Thanks! I really appreciate. :D

I really think you should start taking photos to put on your park´s website. Your photos are good, you know.

Also the one with the shadowing trees in the snow. Very simple, yet beautiful.

What wonderful winter photos, Louis. It seems you could start a new carrier as photographer soon. No, that's not kidding. Why not? Maybe with the new photos for the parc website you have a beginning. :up:

Louis 25. January 2007, 06:28

You are too kind Elke! :smile:

ALLY G. 25. January 2007, 06:38
