Desserts of the World
Wednesday, 26. December 2007, 19:19:52
Recently i was i Finland and i tried some different desserts and plates that were completly new to me.
This friends were i stayed visited me 2 years ago, and also tried some different and traditional portuguese plates and deserts they never tried.
It was a great experience...
I can see people from all over the world around here, in Opera.
So, my chalenge is to leave here one recipe of a famous and good dessert of your country.
The other members must compromise, to try that recipe, and comment here.
We can change experiences. Sometimes the result may not be as expected, but we compromise to try again with the guidance of the recipe provider.
So let´s go to the kitchen...
I start here with the recipe of "Arroz Doce" (rice pudding).
It´s traditional here in Portugal, but it may also be traditional in other countries.
ARROZ DOCE - RICE PUDDING
First i must tell, there different ways to do it, but only with small changes.
Ingredients:
250g rice
0.75 L milk
250 g sugar
3 yolk eggs
1 lemon bark
1 cinnamon stick
powder of cinnamon
salt
1- Heat the milk in the stove until boiling
2- Add the rice, sugar, little bit of salt, lemon bark and the cinnamon stick (if you dont have it, dont worry).
3- Let the rice cook with a small flame in the stove.
4- When the rice is cooked, take out of stove, mix very well the yolk eggs, and mix into the pan.
5- Put again in the stove, low flame, until the yolk eggs are cooked.
6- Now you can put in small bowls, or a big one. Not very deep.
7- Spread cinnamon powder in the top.
Enjoy
This is the basic receipt. Now, some people may have little secrets to improve this. Maybe some portuguese friends (Idália?) wants to improve this recipe...
