Hôm nay là mùng 7 tháng 7 âm lịch theo truyền thuyết chính là lễ Thất Tịch (七夕) theo phong tục của người Trung Quốc. Theo truyền thuyết thì đây là ngày Ngưu Lang, Chức Nữ được gặp nhau nên người Trung Quốc và nhiều quốc gia Đông Á đã xem ngày này như ngày lễ tình yêu của nước họ. Vì Chức Nữ vốn rất khéo tay nên trong ngày này người ta thường tổ chức các hoạt động thi về nấu ăn hay may vá. Đây là một dịp để các cô gái thể hiện tài năng nữ công với người yêu.
Ở Nhật Bản, ngày Thất Tịch được gọi là Tanabata. Trong ngày Tanabata người ta thường viết những ước mơ của mình treo lên cành trúc và tin là những điều ước này sẽ thành hiện thực... stop.
