RSS Awareness Day

Are you RSS wise? Apparently, most people aren't. Almost every web site of note has that little RSS button waiting to be pressed, but only a small percentage of web users around the world are taking advantage of it. RSS Awareness Day hopes to change that.
If you don't know quite what it is, or what it does, let me offer a brief explanation. It's simply a way of collecting new information as it's posted by your favourite web sites. You'll need an RSS Reader of some sort. Google Reader is my personal favourite. Most web browsers have one built in. There's also NewsGator. You'll often have the choice (not with Google though) of downloading a standalone feed reader, or having a web based reader (ala Google).
When you visit a website you like, and you decide you'd like to read their material every time it's published, just click on the Orange RSS button. It should open your feed reader and hey presto - you have a subscribed feed! Every time you open your feed reader, any new info will be there. Couldn't be easier.
I shall be doing an RSS series of posts over the coming three weeks in the build up to RSS Awareness Day. Want to read them? Click that orange button and ye shall have it all automatically!
