and another day finishes...

When this Season Ends

When this longest season ends, how will the sun go down on me?
Will there be happiness - or will there be newfound rivalry?
When this season ends, will dreams shatter in the changing wind?
I wish I knew the answer from the beginning to the final end.

So many suns will rise and fall during the evasion of our lives
upon this small, shaky ground that would never look at us twice
but since we’re standing upon this stage...whoa crowd, look out!
Gossiping and mayhem...what is true life ever really true about?

Wishing the seasons away one by one in this final year.
It’s been such a long time since I’ve found myself right here.
Why am I standing here? What roads did I have to take
to deliver me into this world...can my heart withstand another break?

When this season ends, how will the story lines ever go?
It seems that’s all we are...pure rumor within this traveling show.
You and I no time have we to enjoy the hours in the sun.
When this season ends, will it end whatever had begun?

I’ve lived through seasons ending in the somewhat distant past.
It’s something that so haunts you...you hold on to whatever lasts.
A world that enters into your heart will captivate you to no end.
But what wonderment will still exist when we reach that final bend?

Every day that passes by is another day closer to that brink
of final goodbyes or new hellos...It’s just the way you think.
When this season ends, I hope that I’m remembered once in a while...
This simple stranger with just the slightest hint of a smile.
