Unending Love...

Every child comes with the message that God is not yet discouraged of man.
Rabindranath Tagore

Rabindranath Tagore

Tagore's poetry stems from his love of nature, and commitment to a universalist philosophy which seeks to see God through personal service. Tagore was also influenced by The Upanishads - India's ancient scriptures. In 1913, Rabindranath received the Nobel Prize for literature.

"Love is an endless mystery, for it has nothing else to explain it" - Tagore

Unsung Heroes...

, , , ...

To love another person is to see the face of God.
- Les Miserables

There are people under public scrutiny all the time... criticized for doing things as if they were doing it as some publicity stunt, simply for the fact that they are in the public eye... I could mention Angelina Jolie as one, and her adoption of children of third world countries... Bono Vox, Hugh Laurie and many others. Personally, I think it is a wonderful thing, that just because they can and that they do it, and I sure as hell won´t criticize them for it... I think it´s beautiful regardless of their status quo. People argue about the fact, that there are many kids in Jolie´s own country that she could do that for, which to a certain extent, is true, but it is also true, that her own country is set up to help kids left right and center, and most third world countries are not.

Here, I would like to talk about all the unsung heroes in our own communities and the things they do to make the world a better place. I know quite a lot of people who go out of their way to make someone smile and make their lives a little bit easier in some way. People I have met and have had wonderful conversations with and even had, eye-opening views to the millions of ways that people go out of their way to help people and make their lives easier in some way.

I have friends who have set themselves up in Gambia, Africa, to teach the kids there how to read and write, also set up a charity to help these kids have a better life. No one really know these two, and they are two of the most wonderful people I´ve ever met. And a family who goes there every year to play Santa for these kids to watch them break into smiles... I think that´s beautiful! I also have a very long time friend who is now retired, but still lectures at the university and still does research in breast cancer to help fight that disease, although technically, he should be retired. I think that´s wonderful! Oh and the list of all the unsung heroes would go on and on. The new neighbor who moves into a community and the neighborhood comes and welcomes him/her in. It´s really nice... isn´t it???

The beautiful people, true beautiful people we meet everyday, people who we are glad to know and make us smile that such people exist and that is what true humanity is all about. Being kind to each other. Trying to make life easier for everyone. Even if you are only able to lend an ear and spend time with someone who isn´t doing too well, to hold their hand and let them know you are there. To let them know you really do care.

To be able to sit with somebody and enjoy a cup of coffee, a complete stranger even, that has sparked your curiousity and have an interesting conversation without any false pretenses... just learning something new everyday and not spoiling the beauty of the natural curiousity for learning something different. Not transforming the natural smile of human kindness and curiousity into tears...

Creating Random Acts of Kindness... that´s what true humanity is all about. The rest is just garbage.

Learn To Be Still...

, , , ...

“The two most powerful warriors are
patience and time.”

“Don't seek God in temples.
He is close to you.
He is within you.
Only you should surrender to Him
and you will rise above happiness and unhappiness.”

“In the name of God,
stop a moment,
cease your work,
look around you.”

“Joy can be real only
if people look upon their life as a service,
and have a definite object in life outside themselves
and their personal happiness”
-Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy

It’s just another day in paradise
As you stumble to your bed
You’d give anything to silence
Those voices ringing in your head
You thought you could find happiness
Just over that green hill
You thought you would be satisfied
But you never will-
Learn to be still

We are like sheep without a shepherd
We don’t know how to be alone
So we wander ’round this desert
And wind up following the wrong gods home
But the flock cries out for another
And they keep answering that bell
And one more starry-eyed messiah
Meets a violent farewell-
Learn to be still
Learn to be still

Now the flowers in your garden
They don’t smell so sweet
Maybe you’ve forgotten
The heaven lying at your feet

There are so many contradictions
In all these messages we send
(we keep asking)
How do I get out of here
Where do I fit in?
Though the world is torn and shaken
Even if your heart is breakin’
It’s waiting for you to awaken
And someday you will-
Learn to be still
Learn to be still

You just keep on runnin’
Keep on runnin’...

We satisfy our endless needs and
justify our bloody deeds,
in the name of destiny and the name
of God

And you can see them there,
On Sunday morning
They stand up and sing about
what it's like up there
They call it paradise
I don't know why
You call someplace paradise,
kiss it goodbye...

Failure...

, , ,

Why is it,

when you´re looking for that someone,

you find no one,

but, once you find someone,

a lot more choices start showing up?

But, if you leave that first love, then,

they all start drifting away?

Is that love's way of testing your true feelings

or to see if your ready for love?

Using the Guardian as a shield,

to cover my thighs against the rain,

I didn't mind about my hair.

Your jacket may be waterproof,

but knowing the moment you get home

you're gonna get your trousers changed.

Failure is always the best way to learn,

retracing your steps 'til you know,

have no fear your wounds will heal.

I wish I could travel overground

to where all you hear is water sounds,

lush as the wind upon a tree.

I wish I could travel overground

to where all you hear is water sounds,

to capture and keep inside of me.

Failure is always the best way to learn,

retracing your steps 'til you know,

have no fear your wounds will heal.

Failure is always the best way to learn,

retracing your steps 'til you know,

have no fear your wounds will heal.

"When I dance I know who I am!

I feel Centred and Connected with All things."

Some people just fill you up with pride, because they are stubborn, they truly know what love is about... they write about it, they fill people with self-esteem, they sing about it and every moment of their lives is so beautiful, because they are true to who they are and they never walk all over another's self-esteem.

I could name quite a lot of people that fills me up with pride, people around me, people who you wouldn't know, others that are so public. One of these public figures that I dearly love is Gabriel Marquez Garcia. Every single book of his, I've read. What a truly beautiful man he is... a person, full of true humanity and someone who has learned what is unconditional love and unconditional freedom is really about.

Another such human being that sings about unconditional love and unconditional freedom is Ben Harper. Every single song of his has a powerful message for all, be it love, be it political, be it just human... it's all there, the messages are all very clear.

I laugh at sad love songs... why do people listen to that? Sure, one listens and can recognize something sweet and melancholic in those songs... but reality is, they are all "failed relationships" ... a message is there... what went wrong? Why do we sing about something that is gone??? Why don't you let go and carry on with your life? The beauty of life is living it... true to who we really are, and not letting anyone walk all over our self-esteem, and learning to balance our own ideals with those around us, accepting the opinions of others, and respecting it. No one wants to be alone, we are all part of humanity... showing your own humanity to the people around us. Show us your kindness, the things your mother and your father taught you, honor your mother and your father, and don´t fill your life with shame or theirs. We are all human, we all make mistakes, but learn from them and evolve to become a better human being. History is there to teach us the things that went wrong and to correct it for a better future. Could be that it was something your parent´s did, are you a victim?, or will you find your self repeating the same vicious cycles? Forgive and carry on, make your story. Patience, love, and self-respect is a start, but what about others?... Do you show patience and kindness to those around you? those are all things we are all taught... why do people surround themselves with such human garbage? Garbage is thrown away. These people don´t walk the sacred circle of life. They will learn it the hard way.

We live in a world full of vicious cycles, full of damaged disgusting human beings, full of liars and cheats, who seek love but don't understand it and create vicious cycles of hate. These people are seriously damaged. We live in a world which talks about freedom, but don't understand what freedom truly is about. The root of all these problems is that these people never learned what it is to be truly human and to recognize the mark of God in every person they relate to.

To find one´s balance of our sub-conscious and our conscious! To find the language of God in our mathematics, and to find humanity expressing through words and art... God is beautiful and it is in each and everyone of us, it is in everything that surrounds us. To walk with your head up high... be who you truly are. See someone who has low-esteem, build it up, recognize that he is your brother. Someone too proud who walks all over people, knock his down, and remind him who he truly is...

Don´t turn a smile into tears...

and to quote a part of Pablo Neruda´s poem:

It's forbidden to cry without learning,

to wake up a day without knowing what to do,

to be afraid of your own memories...

It's forbidden by Pablo Neruda (I will post the full english version of it soon, that I have translated)

Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I'll be watching you

Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
I'll be watching you...

Since you've gone
I been lost without a trace
I dream at night
I can only see your face
I look around
but it's you I can't replace
I keep crying baby please...

Every single day...

Aristophanes ´s Speech from Plato ´s Symposium

,

This is one of my favorite readings of an ancient philosopher...

And I so agree with it...

"Wherefore let us exhort all men to piety, that we may avoid evil, and obtain the good, of which Love is to us the lord and minister; and let no one oppose him-he is the enemy of the gods who oppose him." - Aristophanes' Speech

One Day I Wrote Her Name...

,

One day I wrote her name upon the strand,
But came the waves and washed it away:
Again I wrote it with a second hand,
But came the tide and made my pains his prey.
"Vain man," said she, "that dost in vain essay
A mortal thing so to immortalize;
For I myself shall like to this decay,
And eke my name be wiped out likewise."
"Not so," quoth I; "let baser things devise
To lie in dust, but you shall live by fame;
My verse your virtues rare shall eternize,
And in the heavens write you glorious name:
Where, when as Death shall all the world subdue,
Our love shall live, and later life renew."
