Show us your skills and win!

Update: We have extended the deadline for submitting widgets to midnight February 3rd.This Christmas the Web Applications team would like to bring some music into your lives. What better way to do that than to award the most killer widget with a Wii and Guitar Hero III!
A Nintendo Wii and Guitar Hero III
The Nintendo Wii is a great device, and has been sold out at stores around the globe for a year! Guitar Hero III hascommanded a lot of respect over the home entertainment market. it's a game you will love, just like us here at Opera
And two guitars!
The Web Applications team likes to have competitions. Infact we like to compete (and winIn the past, we've had many people make widgets and our widgets repository now hosts over a thousand of them. Check them out for some inspiration! Think of widgets that you would like to use on your Mobile phone or ones that you would like to have on your TV. Imagine a world of desktop applications, made using Open Web Standards. What would you like to do today, online or offline? it's up to you!
T-Shirts every week!
The Giving season has begun and we are giving away two t-shirts every week to the best widgets for the previous week. When we award our users, we like to go all out.Bonus points will be awarded for widgets that have a local aspect, e.g. widgets that have more value for someone living in a particular city. A good example are the existing widgets offering public transportation information for Oslo.
Until the 20th of January, we will take each new or updated widget and:
- Measure their coolness
- Observe their usefulness
- Check their Code quality
- Count download numbers
- and finally, look out for innovative developers
Best of luck! and Godspeed

Is that any widget that already exists and has been updated, or just any widget submitted now which may be updated before Jan 20th?
(And no, I'm not planning on updating and re-submitting my existing widgets!)

Oh man :(, I was planning to do a Widget of my country (Colombia) for the competition, but it´s imposible because:
Measure their coolness
Observe their usefulness
Check their Code quality
Count download numbers
and finally, look out for innovative developers
Well, let's think in something else :).

I don't know what timezone you guys are considering but it's 23:30 here in Brazil, I thought I was on time.
I hope it gets in the competition cause it's a really nice widget that some people have been asking for and nobody did up to now.

Oh, and you might have been a day early even. Or I'm a day late in which case I'll just eat extra cake at my fathers 50th birtday tomorrow to eat away my sorrows

Hi guys, I know this is wrong. We have a list of winners that we've been sitting on for a while, unfortunately we haven't been able to say it out loud yet.
Please bear with us as we find our way out of something we didnt expect. I'm sorry but I cant disclose everything in a public forum and we really appreciate the hard work that you guys have put into this competition. I guess next time we should just have a public voting mechanism to find a winner instead of us doing the judging ourselves. This has been a tough competition and even more so for us, as we learn to host them.
I apologise for the delay, the winners will be notified once the announcement is public and please feel free to batter my inbox with complaints. I'll try and make sure this never happens again.

We understand you can't disclose everything in a public forum, and we appreciate the work you guys had to host this competition with such great prizes.
We can handle the delay, but please just keep us informed so we know we haven't been forgotten!
