What's in the Saucepan?

, , ,

Apparently some cool prizes from ThinkGeek.

After my plea to developers around the world to aid my village of cool prizes and after I promised some trendy Opera 9 threads (note: flash needed), it seems someone stopped the widget bandit. Sort of.

Johnnysaucepn came to our aid by dethroning the reigning widget champion. He created a reminder widget that uses - what else - vikings to keep you informed. I like it. I rely on it to remember important things I have to do. And what are those things? Bushing my teeth, feeding my fish, hanging the DJ, etc.

But despite the secret sauce taking this week, he couldn't stop Bejamin from walking away with our first monthly prize, a Nokia 770. Rock on, man.

While that does sound like a tempting offer, I feel we don't know each other quite well enough yet...

Well done on the monthly prize, Benjamin. I know you're going to have fun with that... You deserve it, you're undoubtedly a canvas Jedi.

Oh, and it's actually 'saucepn', in a Web 2.0 style....

I believe I played a game a very long time ago where that viking had a big role in.
Great Game.(c64)

Also a great widget

johnnysaucepn 8. June 2006, 15:23

C64? Are you sure? Maybe Amiga?

Just found out there was a re-issue for the Gameboy Advance a couple of years back - going to have to keep my eyes open for that! There's a playable Flash demo here.

berend ytsma 8. June 2006, 15:51

I never had an Amiga so it should by C64.
Very very basic, and later it came to Amiga and the pc.

Congratulations on the first of hopefully more wins to come Mr. Saucepn!

EDIT: Shouldn't the title of this blog entry be "What's in the Saucepn?"

Mark 8. June 2006, 16:37

Mr. Saucepn is the man!

mike421 8. June 2006, 17:24

Congrats on the win! New toys are cool. Hopefully there is more to come.

Congratulation with the price!

off topic:
I remember the game too.
Actually just called Vikings, One short, one tall and one.. I think fat. You had to combine them to get around and solve the tasks.
One had a shield you had to use to protect the others and so on.

Think me and my brother played it on our Amiga 500.
My brother where the biggest player of us two in that game.
I drove around in a Jaguar xj220...
