Update: The calander is back in its full glory.
The release of MS11-081: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer: October 11, 2011 seems to have fixed the problem. The update bumps the update version of Internet Explorer 9 to 9.0.3 as shown below.
After upgrading to Internet Explorer 9, you may notice that the calander gadget would be blanked out as shown to the right.
To fix it, Go to start and search for "cmd". Right click the program and select run as adminstrator as shown:
Say yes to the UAC prompt. In the box type in the following:
In Windows 7, copy the above items and paste it into the CMD Window (by right clicking anywhere on the black window and selecting paste).
After that, restart the PC. Note: the fix only works after a restart.
Restart the PC one last time to verify the fix. Thanks to http://www.facebook.com/AhmedElMasssry who posted the solution on Internet Explorer Facebook page
Edit: If you close the gadget, restart, and reopen it, the problem reoccurs.
Edit 2: Today's patch tuesday (Tuesday, April 12, 2011) seems to have fixed this bug. Install ALL updates as I don't know which update fixed the bug but one of them did...
Edit to above edit: Restarting the PC with calander closed will re-cause the problem. Grrr!
Edit 4 (edit to above edit): After enabling the gadget, restart the PC to let it show... Apparently if you are using the gadget after it has been closed and it doesn't shows, try restarting the PC with the gadget open...
