I'll probably not post much on this blog anymore (not that I've ever been super-active ever), so, if you want to follow what I'm doing, please follow me on twitter smile

Wey.. I'm so unbelieveable tired! But from my experiences - Festival Komputer 2009 Opera stand: Great success!

Sooo...what does it cost?..
- it's free! gratis! smile
- No..seriously, what does it cost?!
- Still free.

wink

One thing though.. I SO LOOK FORWARD TO COME HOME TO MY BROADBAND CONNECTION! Even if my internet connection by norwegian standards really SUCK, it's like.. 100 times better then what it is here. In the WHOLE convention center they have a 15 mbit line which ALL stands share. And I seriously doubt that it's even 15 mbit effective..! Opera Turbo FTW!

Some of the campus crew-people smile

Oh. Yeah. I bought some tshirts as well p Theese are only seven of them (A)

Happy Christmas!

My office with my new shiny LED-christmas lights! bigsmile

Unfortunately, the store didn't have any powersupplies left for them, so I had to improvise!

Good stuff bigsmile

News from the department of AWESOME!

, ,

Hey all! Check out this cool door for the opera link guys office!

Awesomenes!

The Intranet Fridge!

, , , ...

Hey!

Long time, no posting. I just wanted to brag about our new fridge in our department. My hackathon-colleague and I have made a little thing - again. bigsmile

After money disappearing, and people not paying for stuff when they are taking items from the fridge, we decided to do something about this. In the first place, we were planning to set up a motion detecting webcam - but that would just be boring. So. Well, we created a system against our company intranet ldap-service, installed a magnetic lock, a buzzer and a temperature sensor on the fridge, and.. Yeah, some sloppy php and perl ;-D

VOILLA! A fridge you have to login to when you need access to it! smile So, you pick a product from the menu, then "OK! I want to buy this", the fridge will charge your username for the money to keep track of the balances - and it will then unlock itself, so you can open and grab the item you bought.

Taaadaaa! ;P

If you try to open the fridge without logging in and unlocking, an alarm will go off and.. we will probably add a nagios-plugin, so it can send a mail if the door is open, or the temperature is too high smile

Not super tight security, but it's better than nothing bigsmile (and we're ofcourse logging all transactions smile)

MySQL for DBAs!

, , , ...

Sooo.. Yeah smile This week I'm at Linpro learning more about MySQL. This far I haven't really learned too much from the actual course, but there has been many interesting on and offtopic discussions around scaling, schemas, optimizations etc! smile

So, this is the beginning of day two, and I'm looking forward to it! smile

Damn! I bought a house! smile

, ,

Ha, I've just moved into my house! Coolnessines! bigsmile

Hackathon winners!

, , ,

Woooo! Me and quai won this years Hackaton awards! smile

With..this! bigsmile Built it in two days with some secret opera stuff (sorry, cant tell!), javascript and some c-code. Assembled the whole car from a kit, and it's controllable in amusing ways ;D

Moveable camera up/down/sideways, moveable lights (following the camera position?), steering left/right, speed reverse/forward ..in any speed! etc.

As I said, I can't mention the details, but its awesome! ;D

Aaaand.. the original project was only a controllable camera without the car.. smile

EDIT: HEY! TheAtilla helped us out alot! Thanks man! smile
