Boys Like Girls 2008 Live in Manila, Philippines

, , , , , , , , , , ,

September 06, 2008 was one of the extremely unforgettable days during the past 18 years of my life :D It is very memorable in many ways, from the first time we got new of the famous American rock band Boys Like Girls coming here to Manila, to the whole process of getting the tickets and finally feeling the excitement and anticipation as we sat there and waited for the clock to chime 17:00

So how did this start? It is courtesy of my very close friend, Nikko :D He told me about the whole event and took time to find out how to get hold of the tickets. Well, this is something unique, or the first time we'd done it at least. The tickets (or stubs) are not sold directly, but instead customers are required to purchase in a certain mall for a certain amount worth of goods (including clothes, food, toys, etc.) in which the receipts to these purchases will then be exchanged to tickets for entry to the concert  We are only allowed two tickets maximum per person. I wanted my cousins to experience this, since they've also become great fans. Early in the morning of the performance day, we were to exchange the receipts for tickets at the concierge. Nikko was already qeueing outside the mall as early as 8:30am, when the mall opens at 10:00am. WOW! hahaha I got there 9:30am, and on exactly 10:00am after the doors opened, people were all running madly towards to the concierge   I've never seen such a sight! haha I'm glad my cousin came along so he can do all the running

We got really lucky, we were one of the last few ones to get tickets since only a maximum of 200 people from the public will be accomodated and another 300 seats are reserved for VIP (sponsors, media, affiliates, etc.) At exactly 17:00, THE BAND CAME OUT! :D:D EVERYONE WAS SCREAMING LIKE CRAZY! I'm glad my ears were still somehow feeling ok by then. They look awesome :eyes: All of their songs rocked!!!! haha I was so excited, I busied myself with taking pictures and recording some videos  People were jumping and singing along, hell I wanted to jump with them too, but I don't really wanna fall from the chair I'm standing on  The atmosphere was high, even the dullest of the audience are forced to sway along  A truly amazing experience, I must say all our past efforts paid off :D:yes:

I'm just a bit upset coz I didn't get a signed CD from them coz only the first 100 gets one :frown: but the concert was amazing, they were dazzling, and everything was perfect! Although an hour after the concert is when my ears went back to functioning normally, I was totally hyped with the whole extraordinary experience  I am so happy no words can describe. I can't wait to go to their concert again when they come back some time in the future :D I have posted my favorite song from their first album -- The Great Escape with a video I recorded just so you guys could understand how people were reacting that time, and a YouTube link to the official video is also provided (Boys Like Girls - The Great Escape) :D take a look and enjoy!!! I have also posted some pictures I took from the whole event :D Its in my photo albums (Boys Like Girls Live 2008 ), take a peek and comment haha thanks!!! I would love for you all to share my excitement :D

Sorry to bother you. I know, I'd look so stupid doing this. Lol.

I am looking for someone, who by any chance, had taken a picture of me with Boys Like Girls on stage, September 6th, at Glorietta. I was wearing a gray shirt with colorful prints and maong shorts. Kindly reply to this if ever you have one. My sister who was holding the cam that time didn't take any picture because she was busy chatting with my mom. Anyway, I'm hoping someone out there has. Thanks!! :)

Hello Pau

I checked the pictures I took, sorry I didn't see you...or someone fitting the description. In case you were wondering, I did take several pictures of the Boys Like Girls band members standing on the stage taking pictures with fans after their performance (where Paul was wearing violet and Martin was wearing a scarf) Sorry I was no help, but I could check with my friend and see if he'd happened to take that picture of you by any chance  Good luck with looking for the picture! was truly a great concert wasnt it?

have a nice day!

The picture/s I am looking for was/were actually taken while they were standing on the stage taking pictures with their fan after their performance / autograph signing.

Oh please check. ;)

The concert was hella fun! Too bad, for me, someone stole my album cover with their autographs. HMF. i so hate that old lady.

Anyway, thanks! I hope I'll find what I'm looking for. Haha.

Take care!

winterdawn 9. September 2008, 08:40

Oh yeah well I looked up my friend's photos on that day, I didn't see you either. We didn't stay too long after the show, so I guess we must have missed a few fans who were taking pictures with BLG.

I can't believe someone would be that desperate to steal someone's signed album cover :furious: I would have hunted that old lady down if it happened on me  I sure hope it wasnt that old hag who scolded practically everyone qeueing outside the circle before the show started. But what the heck, at least the show was awesome! can't wait for the next time they come here hah

Sorry about the photos, next time tell your sister to pay attention to you  good luck! tc

I am very sure that the one who stole my album cover wasn't that lady you were talking about. Haha. I was there too and I practically also had to suck in everything she had to say. She was too damn noisy. Poor guards, they had nothing to do but to stay quiet and listen to eveything she was babbling about. Yeah, I feel sorry for the guards. Haha. Whatever. :)

Oh wait, I have a good news for myself and yours as well, I finally found the picture I was looking for. Yehey! Thanks to Picture City!! I love them now. I am gonna print every single photo I have to that store! Haha!

I so agree. I can't wait for their comeback. BLG's so awesome ever. I think, I did not regret seeing BLG instead of Third Eye Blind. Well, who knows? Maybe TEB was awesome too like them. Hahaha!

Take Care and thanks! Btw, Do you have a multiply account? :)

Hmm I do have a multiply account, I think most people living in Philippines does  I'll give you the site through private message  I don't like to announce it to the public heh now I'm waiting for The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Fall Out Boy to come  and of course BLG too :D:D

It was really nice to meet you! have a great week  cya

Yup, the photo studio. I think they took pictures of almost everyone during the concert. I was lucky enough to be one of them. They sure have lots of pictures of the fans and the band as well.

Yeah. And the venue where Third Eye Blind was at, was too far from my place and it was like for beer drinkers since the event was like about San Miguel whatever.

Oh. I am waiting for Red Jumpsuit Apparatus also. Well, including Secondhand Serenade, Sum 41 AND Fall Out Boy AGAIN. :( I didn't see FOB's concert last year, can't believe I lost the chance of seeing them. LOL.

Here's my e-mail.. kamo.come@yahoo.com :)

Nice meeting you also! Later. :)

winterdawn 10. September 2008, 02:45

I see they are all energy! I think it energyze you too
Seems good music for lifting up our moods.

Great, and thanks for let me know!

winterdawn 22. September 2008, 12:15

haha yes! energy is what I need :D all the time P: at least I wouldn't have to resort to coffee  I'm not saying its bad, but its addictive so I try to stay away from is as much as possible :D

Did you like their songs? or maybe you are already too deaf to tell me that? its some loud music I admit, but help keeps me awake  I was in another city attending an economic convention this weekend, and had been on some tour around the city as well, with my friends  It was really fun :D How was your weekend?

pbuydid 22. September 2008, 19:05

I listened to the song of the video. I'm not updated following your post and comments, and that's why I didn't listened everything. I must say sorry for that, but you see, life is not easy since we have lots of things to do everyday.

Was OK the convention?

Yesterday was raining... but I was with most of my friends celebrating the aniversary number 33 of my parents wedding. I ate a lot and my stomache had a big party  Lot of pasta and cakes!!!
