Why I choose the Opera browser

Many years ago I originally chose Opera because I ran FreeBSD as my desktop OS. At the time, only Netscape and Opera were available for FreeBSD.

After using Opera on FreeBSD, I realized it was very well written software. I especially liked the intuitive UI, the fast page rendering, and how easy it was to customize the configuration and appearance. Opera also boasts a very good security history, and generally does not have bugs that plague other browsers.

Before I discovered Opera, I was only using IE or Netscape. Compared to the alternatives, Opera was clearly a far superior web browser, and I continue to use it on both FreeBSD and Windows today.
