In the beginning...

LCAV is a robotics project. I am not a post-graduate, I do not have any training in AI programming, but I do drink beer.
Beer will get you by in most situations, or so I find. And with this in mind I build my robot.
In a nutshell it is a Linux server that runs off a battery and will be self-propelled by way of a chassis and a set of wheels. Batteries and wheels are very boring so this blog will likely not mention them until much later in the project.
This is mainly an excercise in making Linux talk to a load of hacked together proprietary electronics, unusual algorithms and code optimisation (my real passion).
This blog will (hopefully) appeal to linux hackers like myself and my mate Øyvind.
Anyway, I invite any constructive input about my project and I always give credit where it's due so please let me know if you have any comments or questions about my project and I'll answer them as soon as I can.
