STILL HERE!

, , , ...

I've been busy on YouTube going through all my videos hunting out the best bits. Pres, game shows and even Marillion all feature.

Bob approves! The Blockbusters clips are some of the highest viewed!

CENTRAL LIVES IN NOTTINGHAM

I always see this on the train coming into Nottingham, looking rather unloved. It's on Colwick Road if anyone is interested!

TELEVISION MAGAZINE

, , , ...

I recently got hold of a few old issues of Television magazine, the mag for the TV repair trade.

Of particular interest here are the rather groovy covers and the added bonus of there being a DX-TV section inside about picking up TV reception from afar, with pictures! Here are some choice scans.....

Bah, they all sound the same now!

OWN YOUR OWN PIECE OF CENTRAL

A rather dodgy image, but it was used to some effect in the Central control room to switch the Central regions over during the news.

The buttons say (for each region) COMMS LMS 1, COMMS SPOT, COMMS LMS 2, ASSIGN 1, WEST (or EAST, SOUTH) FLEXI CART, NEWS WEST (or east etc), DSM ASSIGN, PRES MIXER and lovely red cut and fade buttons. On the left there are master CUT ALL and FADE ALL buttons and a sinister TRIG OFF button under a protective lid. It is made by PRO-BEL and had switches replaced in 93, 94 and 96. It's proper name is "CENTRAL TV NETWORK SWITCHER" and makes a lovely clicky sound.

If someone goes on another tour of the old Central building can they see what else is left in the control room? Cheers, and bring us back a mug.
