Chihuahua, Mexico; a place to be

, , , ...

Chihuahua, Mexico, is a state located in the northern central part of Mexico.

Its capital is Chihuahua that is located in the center of the state, being one of the twenty most populated cities in Mexico and the second in the state (after Juarez city) with a population around 748,551.

The name comes from the Raramuri (Tarahumara) meaning "Aridn and dry place".
The climate it is mostly desert with some mountains in the left and right frontiers. The climate changes from very hot in the day to freezing temperatures in the night. In the mountains is where snow is common in winter.

The economy in Chihuahua is mostly based in Maquiladoras and animals such as cows and other animals.

Something weird is that the Chihuahua (Chihuahueño) dog doesn't come from this state, and not even from this country. But there have been festivals like the Dog Parade where dogs sculputures where put around the city showcasing the culture in Chihuahua.

I'm gonna leave you with some pictures I took the last visit to Chihuahua.

Some people are just ungrateful

, , , ...

December 26th:

In Chihuahua, Mexico, after coming back from certain duties, my sisters, father and me stopped in a traffic light, and like you know, in Mexico there are people asking for money or selling stuff. This day was not exception.

When waiting, one person was selling chocolates, asking 3 for $10, then 4 for $10. My father decided to “help” him by buying 4 chocolates. He started to look for money in the car “drawers” and in his pockets, but not in his wallet. After some second, the guy selling the chocolates said in English: “fuck”, but only my sisters heard him and stayed quiet. Some seconds later after my father looking again in drawers and his pockets and not finding any more money, the guy said in English again and in a louder voice “Why are you taking so long fucker”. I could not believe my ears and eyes! The dog was bitting the hand of the person that gives it to eat! I started replying back in English and my father looked at me then he spoke to the guy by saying to be more respectful and do not come with stupid thing like the one that he said (even though my father did not hear anything). He gave the chocolates back to the guy and the guy started to laugh and walk rapidly and we lost him between the cars. I did not see him until two days later.

Why I posted this? When the guy spoke in English, he spoke it very clear. Maybe he lived some time in the USA and he committed a crime and he came back to Mexico.

Christmas Famine

, , , ...

In this season, people celebrate by eating and drinking with their families. Some of the care about money by giving food or clothes to the poor such as the salvation army that they have people outside the stores to collect money. Other people just do not care.

Some people in Africa do not even have food for days while here in the USA, people throw away food like the air they breath. In the Mr. Pita fast food chain, I saw one of the workers throw a Pita roll because a person told him that he had put the wrong dressing, only because of the dressing.

And water is another thing. In Africa, Mexico and southwest of the USA (like Arizona), it is a crime to waste water such as having great extensions of grass like here in Michigan; while in Michigan they wash their cars with the hose (I have seen many people) when in Mexico is done with buckets.

Africa is other thing; I do not know a lot but I just know that they are suffering by famine.

That is not a taco nor a quesadilla

, , , ...

I'm Mexican, and I'm telling you, this parody-commercial of Taco Bell or any restaurant like that is kinda gross. For me a taco is a Tortilla with meat (usually) and with vegetable like lettuce, tomato and cilantro. The quesadillas I know them as a tortilla with cheese and no more, but of course if you want to put more things like steak or sauce is welcome.

But I'm telling you, that taco is gross.
