Isn't she beautiful?

Back in my parents place I have always have a dog. I think it is because I am a single child and someone told them that I needed a mascot for company.

My favourite dogs have been Pipi and Toto. Pipi was born in 1988 and was a dark brown doberman pincher, after 3 years we tried to get her pregnant but instead she got sick and needed surgery. Then, she was so sad and looked so lonely that we got her a white bichon frise puppy named "Odie" (like the one in garfield)... somehow we ended up calling him Toto. So, we became very close with Pipi and I loved her very much. Toto was my mom's dog and they developed a relation where he really treated her as his mother.

After many years of lovely stories and many afternoons sleeping in the sofa they grew old. Pipi died back in 2001 because of her age. One day, after loosing all her teeth and the movement of her legs, she could not move anymore without pain and we had to sacrifice her. When i left home 4 years ago my parents were left only with Toto. Because of age he got epileptic seizures and became very sick, after seing his pain we sacrificed him on 26th october of 2004... it has been one of the sadest days I can remember, everyone in my family cried as if one of us had expired.

We had so many good moments with my dogs and I have wanted for so long to have one again. On this trip to Colombia my parents were finding out about dogs and were thinking of getting a pincher puppy. Off course I was happy about the idea of having a dog!! But, it was very hard to get a brown puppy after xmas so, after a long search, some nice people we met in Fusa let us borrow a little pincher girl called Pinina. She is the nicest dog ever, very cute and friendly with everyone! We had to give her back in our way to Bogota and it felt like the end of the story.

My mom has called me today asking if I agree that they should buy Pinina. She is 6 years old already but is great that she does not need any training and she is just soooooo sweet that anyone can take care of her if needed. I didn't think twice to answer "yes" with a smile in my lips. From today my family has a dog again. My mom used to say that you can tell when a family is good if they have a mascot (toda familia que se respete tiene que tener perro) so we are good people again...

I can hardly wait to go home and play, hug and be with our new dog Pinina!!
