Google has been always a pain for Opera, and Gmail a great pain.
Sinds the new gmail2 Opera has been left out, and had it's trouble with it.

But Opera managed to get better with gmail2 and gmail2 with Opera.
So sinds a day or two Gmail2 is automaticly the choise if you type https://www.gmail.com
There is no UserScript needed, and even the Rich text features are working.

But there are still people that have trouble with it, that it just doesn't load.
For those people, I say "Disable the content blocking, and see if that makes any difference"
There is a change that you're blocking something from Google that Google doesn't like to see blocked.
This disabling of the content blocker can somethimes work on more sites.

Opera Software sued complaints the European branch of Microsoft cause Internet Explorer (IE) is being linked to Windows, This would be competition counterfeiting.



The Norwegian software maker submitted wednesday at the European Commission (EC) has an official complaint. According to opera Microsoft abuse its monopoly position by offering Explorer as only Internet standard browser for Windows. Moreover the softwaregigant would thwart the interoperability by failing commonly accepted build standards in IE.

Standards
Opera has asked the EC to force Microsoft to disconnect the browser from Windows. As an alternative, other browsers could be offered in co junction with the Operating system. Furthermore they want Microsoft to remain faithful to the It-standards.

The standard problem is very important. For lack of widely supported standards, site builders have been tended to make their websites for the most used browser. That discouraged users to use other browsers then IE.

Consumer
The spokesman of Microsoft in Brussels was not contactable for comment. In the past the company gave as explanation that the consumers would have advantage at the integration of IE and Windows.

Opera says have lodged the complaint on behalf of all consumers who have their belly full of monopolists.
