Olga Tanon

, , , ...

After that ugly post about hating women, I have to mention that I admire my mom so much for everything.

If I could admire another it would have to be Olga Tanon.

She has a resemblance that of course reminds me of my mother. She has an incredible charisma in her performances, and I had the opportunity to see her live. It was my mother's present for mother's day. It was amazing! Everything I expected and more. If I could, I'd go to all of her performances.

I love her music and her voice.

Here's a little something by her at the House of Blues in Orlando. The one that gets to the both of us. You know the teary-eyed one? But she has lots of other great songs, too!

The following two are from the show that we went to:

Enjoy.

The New Pepsi

, , , ...

I love it.
The person or "team" who came up with this new logo should have been me. :D
Anyhoo, kudos for Pepsi.

The commercial uses The Apples in Stereo's "Energy." A very nice track. If you don't have it, you definitely should go and buy it somewhere. It's one of those (like I've said before) that's worth buying. But...lucky you! It is actually free on Amazon.

Have you seen the Pepsi site?! Greeeat Stuff. They have very nice wallpapers, too.

I actually have a cut out of a pepsi box hanging on my bookcase.

Enjoy the commercial and the song, which you should definitely go get from Amazon and put on your [pod of i] or your mp3 player of choice.

Enjoy.

ACL 2008: Manu Chao

, , , ...

I feel a bit guilty today. :frown:

Parking is pretty bad here on campus, so everyone drives around desperately trying to find a spot. I could have sworn that I spotted the white truck leaving its parking spot before the other girl did. So I hurried and got into my ready position. She was, too, ready to take it. But! she didn't see that I was also waiting for the spot. You see, the truck was huge, covering both of our small cars.

...turns out, I ended up taking the parking spot. So, the chic waits til I get out of the car and obviously nags about me taking her spot. "You know I was waiting for that spot." I just say, "Well, you didn't see me waiting for it as well." Of course, she continues to talk about how rude it is, but I was on my way to class. No time to argue about how crappy the parking situation is.

I've had that happen to me several times, but Jeez! It's not the end of the world. Why do people waste their few seconds that they could possibly use to "move on" and find something better? Not just with parking, with everything!

So, no feeling guilty...just a catchy intro.

Time: I wish I had more of it. I could get so many things done. I want to finish up my Austin City Limits DVD. So far, I have only been able to import all of the videos into iMovie. I also managed to make an Album Book on iPhoto and to upload one video on YouTube. I really want to combine and edit the videos and then upload them all on YouTube...but that takes time. I will get it done, sometime.

Here is my proof:

Manu Chao @ Stubb's BBQ
Horrible pictures, I know. I really need a new camera. Somebody suggest one!

Ok, I didn't mention that I am in my Digital Forensics class, so I must go now.

Enjoy.

UPDATE!

The two shows were phenomenal!

First night was at Stubb's BBQ.
I thought we were going to miss his intro, because it took us a while to find the hotel. We had to check in before the show, so we were in a hurry. Something went wrong with Google map and I got the directions confused.

Anyhow, we arrived at the show 5 minutes before they started. Very motivating crowd, unfortunately I was a bit on the outer side of the crowd. The pictures were really blurry, but I was able to zoom for the video captures.

This show was longer than the one on Friday. He played "Hombre Perdido," "King of the Bongo," and "Minha Galera."

On Friday, the following day, we decided to check out the ACL Festival. We were originally planning to go camping instead. But! as much as I like Manu Chao, I just had to make sure that I didn't have a reason not to attend.

So....we hit the bus, get to the festival, and buy some scout tickets. The single day passes were sold out, and we got a fair deal, I guess. I still think we could have found something cheaper, but time was a wastin'.

We head for the front of the crowd. And, we make it! We got to see how Radio Bemba Soundsystem sets up their own stuff.

This crowd was way bigger. He played his usual tracks, not including the ones mentioned above.

It was a greeeat experience, and I will definitely see him again, if the opportunity arises.

Thanks rodix for making me type my review.

Enjoy.

Now I've got everything that I wanted...

, , , ...

I've got him addicted to Sudoku. Haha! He's applying for a new job at this very moment.

I saw 21 three times this past weekend. The movie is just great. I'm not into Blackjack at all. For all I know, the strategy of counting cards may even be false. Either way, I thought it was entertaining. Also, PB&J's "Young Folks" is randomly thrown in there; nothing wrong with that.

While I'm MMS blogging, I am also running out of gas. Jeez! It's way too hot outside to not have the AC running.

Brief Update:
I'll be moving back to my apartment pretty soon! My summer is almost over. :frown:

Ok.

I'll Blog later.

Enjoy.

Converse

, , , ...

It might appear as if I am promoting Converse, but I’m actually promoting Julian Casablancas.

Haha, I kid you. I am not promoting anything or anyone. I am just sharing the magnificence of one my favorite members from The Strokes.

Let us not exclude Santogold and N.E.R.D. The three of them make a great blend. I am very pleased with this:
Speaking of shoes, the ones I recently purchased online turned out to be do-it-yourself shoes! So now I am in the process of stitching them. Thank you, Simple Shoes, not so simple. There is a return policy that I will not partake in; I actually like the surprise. That way when the shoes are completely stitched, I can brag, “I made these shoes!”

Enjoy.
If you wish to download the track, My Drive Thru. Here you go: Three Artists. One Song.

iMovie HD

, , , ...

I finally got iMovie HD back on my Macbook. After installing Leopard and iLife '08 it disappeared. :frown: But no fear, it has returned! I don't know what took me so long to get back. Thanks to Wikipedia for enlightening me.

In response to the reduced feature set, Apple released iMovie HD 6 as a free download to those who had purchased iMovie '08. Similarly, Apple also reduced the $299 price tag for Final Cut Express to $199 in response to the new iMovie.

I will be honest, I didn't know that it was available until today after googling video effects on iMovie. And, it all started because of this:
I wanted to change the speed of the video so it would fit with the track I added, All Night-Damian Marley. My feet were actually dancing to this.

That's it for now.

Enjoy.
