RAINBOW BRIDGE
Today's Thought
RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

BOSTON MARATHON
Yesterday I spent the day in Boston at the Boston Marathon. The weather wasn't half bad?
United States did not win. Ethiopia's Deriba Merga won the men's championship, and Kenya's Salina Kosgei (above) won the closest women's race in the 113-year history of the event while Americans took third in both races for the best US finish since 1985.

The weather is good today. I started the day with a hot cup of coffee, checking my emails, and deleting junk from my laptop. While doing that I read up on my Computer Lady updates. Elizabeth Boston, has nice little newsletter for computer tips.

Summer Blooms
Another day at the daily grind running the mansion, as the rich and the elderly ladies gather together for another tea party. The job is easy enough, and it pays well. But I often feel I should be working at something more meaningful. Do I fear stepping out of my warm safe cocoon? Probably?
The days are slowly warming here on the east coast. And I am patiently waiting for the kiss of a warm rain drop, and the gentle summer breeze to blow across my cheek. I hope to get my garden to bloom as it did last summer. But until then I guess I'll have to settle for this virtual garden.

All the homeless people
Magik just jumped up my bed and swiped her paw across my face, as if to say "rise and shine, it's time to get up" So here I am drinking my coffee and blogging with my laptop. It's damp and cool outside today, so I'm still waiting for warmer days.
Yesterday at the homeless shelter I met a young man, looking very lost and scruffy, with tatterd clothing. (as most homeless people are) but for some reason his sadness stood out from the rest. My uncle told me that, he had a brain disorder, and before this brain disorder came about he knew him. He said he worked hard, saved his money and lived a normal life. But since the TBI, life has never been the same for him. I asked my uncle why he was not in some sort of facility, to give him the care he needs. My uncle's reply "my dear there are not enough social workers in the city of Brockton to help out these needy unfortunate people". How sad this is, and there are so many stories like that about homeless people. I decided to make this man my project, and see what I can do for him. With this thought in mind I almost felt guilty, coming home to my secure little cottage.

Soon I'll be off to the daily grind, helping my employee spend her money, organize her household and plan her daily activities.
