I thought I should write something about the Sibelius concert that took place here in Cluj-Napoca at the Gh.Dima Music Academy. It was 2 or 3 weeks ago, only I was lazy to write something then.. In the picture you can see Jussi Makkonen peforming on the violoncello, and Rait Karm on the piano. Both of them are from Finland.
I know the picture is of very poor quality, I took it with my phone. The strage thing is how the background came off in such a negative colour They performed a few plays of the famous Finnish composer Jean(Jan) Sibelius. It could clearly bee seen that thery´re professionals at what they are doing , although I prefer Vivaldi´s style better . Oh, and we didn´t have to pay anything because we recieved free tickets from the Finnish Embassy of Bucharest.
I've just been watching the new Nightwish videoclip of The Islander single.
At first it seemed to me that it's a bit surrealist, when I saw that old man pulling that huge 'flying ship. It reminds me of Salvador Dalí's The Temptation of St. Anthony painting[*] - I don't know exactly why, It's just the first thing that came to my mind watching this video. I'm not and expert of arts
I expected to see something totally different in this clip, like..rain, seashore, mountains(maybe), and a typical Scandinavian landscape. Those ghosts are odd to. - and the fire circle:D Hmmm..I wonder what does it symbolize..
For a moment I thought the rope is going to coil on the old man's feet and pull him into the deep when he drops the anchor.But then he smiles. Nightwish always manages to surprise me Maybe I should have paid more attention on the lyrics.
The well known finnish symphonic metal band's 7th studio album, Dark Passion Play has been officially released today! This is their first album with their new vocalist, Anette Olzon, after Tarja Turunen, the former lead singer was asked to leave the band back in 2005 due to her 'changed attitude towards the band. The tracks are absolutely great!It is a real masterpiece. There are not just any songs, each of them has it's own story, it's own message. It's just like poetry:D Of course Anette's voice is not like Tarja's (she is an opera singer), but the style hasn't changed at all, and that is what makes Nightwish so unique. It has been a long time since the last album, they are fresher and ready to tour the world! So, It's

Dark Passion Play has already sold platinum in Finland!! And the Amaranth single released in august has entered the single charts across Europe, taking the #1st place in Hungary and Spain!
