About me

I'm a finnish IT student who does PHP programming for a living and as a hobby. I also write my programming blog here on My Opera; I try to post a few posts a week, one in every two/three days.

I've been programming since I got my hands on a PC: First DOS script based text-games. When I found out about the internet, web design and programming websites has been one of my primary intrests. I have been programming in HTML, PHP, JavaScript and related languages for years, both just for fun and for profit. I've written many LAN party websites for The Group, for example. When Microsoft released the .NET Framework, I got intrested in Windows programming and have been developing various small more or less useful applications. My most widely known (and most useful) Windows application is probably the Evil Genius Save Game Editor. I've also done some "real" programming for a company with VB.NET.
Lately, I've been getting back into C/C++. In addition, I know my way around in Perl, Python and TCL quite well too. For example, I wrote the server for TankWar Online in Python, which is my favorite scripting language for non-website related things.

In addition to my programming intrests, I'm intrested in Japan/Japanese language, drawing and music. I've always been a fan of fast electronic music, such as trance, hardcore and eurobeat and have collected a quite large amount of music, also non-electronic. Favorite genres include goa/psytrance, hardstyle, j-core, eurobeat and for something different, power/speedmetal.

I also spend a fair amount of time gaming. I play quite much various first person shooters, racing/rally sims and strategy games. This is probably where my intrest in game programming comes from, too.
