Event: Netiv Ha-Lamed-He
Mapmaker: Petr Matula, Pavel Paloncy
Year: 2009
Pace: 3.30-10.00
A Bad race happens and excuses can be found. My bad run could be explained due to the map (especially controls 3, 4, 6, 13, 14 and 17). I could explain it due to the fact that my knee was injured last week.
But it’s all nonsense. In the bottom line, I wasn't sharp from the start. My run wasn't accurate. I was too arrogant in my route choices to controls 1 and 2 and that lead to an arrogant thoughtless run throughout the course. I have to remember that every event is a brand new story. Once you leave the start, the most important thing is to be concentrated all the time. Controls won't appear to you because of your charisma, personality or athletic abilities. Only good route choices and accurate planning.
