Finance: Opera take-over?

TDN Finans, a Norwegian distributor of finance news, refers to rumours about a possible take-over from a competitor or other actor.
The marked sends the Opera stock up 8,06% at Oslo Stock Exchange today.

If our CFO hasn't heard about the takeover, my guess is that it doesn't exist

Also, Opera employees and such hold more than 50 per cent of the shares anyway, as far as I know.

Even if such a rumor have substance, Opera ASA employees will have nothing to say about it thanks to insider trading regulations.

So if it happens, it will happen and we'll know about it. Till then it is all speculation.

Yes, there will always be rumours, not only with Opera Software ASA, but with every other public and private company (except perhaps the truly humongeous ones like Microsoft where it would be hard to see who were to do the buying).
